Since you are reading about my wife and me, we hope you will visit Community Church. When you do tell us you read our brief biographical information. We will take you out to lunch or make a date for dinner, our treat. We have been married 34 years. Our two sons are grown and married to two of the finest daughters-in-law any father and mother could hope to have. We have four grandchildren, two girls and two boys. We met in Miami. My father had retired from the Air Force out of Homestead Air Force base and Miami became home. Valerie’s father also retired out of Homestead. We met at church and were married after my first year of seminary in 1979. I have been in the Gospel ministry 33 years having been ordained in October 1981. I have a B.S.B.A from the University of Florida with a major in accounting, a Master Of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. I completed all course work and had submitted a dissertation thesis for a Doctor Of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, but for personal reasons did not complete it. Valerie, in addition to being a wife and mother, is a Dental Hygienist. She is working part-time for a dental practice in Gainesville. We came to Gainesville in 2007, for an experiment in ministry that did not work out as we hoped. Resigning from that position and seeking a new church, I was called as Pastor to Community Presbyterian Church in 2008. We have served churches in Florida of all sizes. The largest was a 2,400 member church in Miami, where I was an Assistant Pastor. The smallest is Community Church. We hope to glorify God in all things. The primary mission of the church is to make disciples. While there is no one way to do this, there should be an intentional focus on discipleship, community, learning, and ministry. Come see us. Your presence will enrich our worship and it will be a pleasure to meet you.
