In January of 1990 eleven adults, together with their children, began meeting
in the home of John and Kathy Walkup. Their desire was to organize a
Presbyterian Church that would be true to the authority of the Scriptures.
This small group was organized as a mission of Grace Presbyterian Church
Over the past twenty years CPC has been served by Martin Murphy, a student
from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando (January – May 1990), The
Rev. Dr. Benson Cain (April 1991 – April 1994), The Rev. James Walkup (April
1995-July 2006), The Rev. Thomas Lloyd (July 2006 – February 2008), and
The Rev. Scott Simmons (June 2008 – Present).
The sanctuary was completed in time for Dan and Renee Walkup’s wedding
on July 31, 1993 and the first worship service held the next day, August 1.
Building the Fellowship Hall was completed September 20, 2002.
Growth has been steady over 20 years with many programs and activities.
CPC is looking forward to continued development, staying true to our
beginning by sincerely believing and faithfully teaching God’s Word while
adapting our programs and activities to changing times.
